Seafood Boil with Bloveslife Smackalicious Seasoning Mix

This New Year’s day, I’m not doing my typical brunch routine. Instead of my typical quiche, baked goods and mimosas, I’ve decided to do a good ole fashioned seafood boil!

The fact is, with the recent popularity of seafood Mukbangs, I’ve been watching these videos like crazy.

In doing so, I came across popular Mukbang YouTuber, Bloveslife and her Smackalicious Sauce Seasoning Mix.

After a few weeks, I was finally able to get my hands on the mix! It’s so popular that it’s hard for Amazon to keep it in stock. When I finally received it, I made the decision to go with a seafood boil for the New Year.

Full disclosure: a seafood boil isn’t cheap. My boil consisted of Alaskan King crab, snow crab, mussels, and lobster. The seafood plus the vegetables totaled to about $125.

It’s also a bit time consuming, between prep work and cooking, it took me about 4 hours.

In the end, I enjoyed the seafood boil and my boys did too! Blove’s Smackalicious Sauce was a hit as well. The packet makes tons of sauce, so we used as much as we needed and froze the rest. Yes, the $24.99 price tag may be a bit hefty, but you’re getting months worth of sauce.

Read on for the recipe and I also made a review video of our New Year’s Day Seafood boil below.

Seafood Boil Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Packet Bloveslife Smackalicious Seasoning Packet

Seafood / Crab Legs / Mussels / Jumbo Shrimp
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Sweet Onion
  • 4 Lemon
  • 1 Pickled Ginger
  • 1 Sprig Thyme
  • 1 Spring Parsley
  • Cajun Seasoning
  • Adobo
  • Salt
  • 4 Corn on The Cob
  • 4 Red Potatoes
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 Habenero Pepper

Method

  1. Fill a huge pot to about 3/4 full & bring to a boil
  2. Season water with salt, Adobo and cajun seasoning
  3. Add two tablespoons of butter to boiling water
  4. Add half an onion, parsley, thyme, habenero pepper and garlic to water
  5. Quarter a lemon and add to water
  6. While water is boiling, clean seafood by rinsing with cool water
  7. Add potatoes and corn to boiling water and boil for 20 minutes
  8. Remove corn and potatoes and set aside
  9. Add crab legs to boiling water and boil for 15 minutes
  10. While crab legs are boiling, cook shrimp by adding butter and garlic to a saute pan. Cook shrimp until pink on both sides; that's about three minutes per side.
  11. In a separate pot, add butter, add water from the larger boiling pot of seafood and boil mussels for about 7 minutes
  12. Remove all seafood from boiling water and allow it to cool for 10 minutes
  13. Arrange all seafood on a tray
  14. Enjoy!

To make Bloveslife Smackalicious sauce, follow the directions on the label.

Simply melt 4 sticks of butter or an alternate fat and all of your vegetables. Veggies include the sweet onion, garlic, pickled ginger, parsley, thyme and habenero pepper. Once the vegetables are caramelized, add chicken broth and a splash of Coke.
