Super Bowl Game Time Food & Drink Ideas
It’s Super Bowl time!
The Super Bowl is such a fun time of year for me.
Why? Is it because I’m a die hard fan?
No. In fact, the last time I even cared about football is when the Eagles faced off with the Patriots in Super Bowl LII. See, I lived in Philly during the Donavan McNabb years. When the Eagles lost the Super Bowl as McNabb as their quarterback, they became an under dog favorite of mine. The Eagles defeating the favored New England Patriots made Super Bowl history. Well, at least for me it did.
Is it the Super Bowl’s halftime show? Nope. My excitement doesn’t come from the performances either. The quality of the half time show diminished throughout the years. Besides, I’m a 42 year old single mom of two boys – you really think artists like the Weeknd is doing it for me? My friends, I think not. Haven’t been interested in a half time performance since Beyonce performed with Bruno Mars at the Super Bowl 50 half time show.
What I love about this American sport; the hallowed annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), is that it’s a time when families get together and really enjoy themselves. Now granted, Super Bowl gatherings are going to look a lot different in the wake of a pandemic (more virtual, one would hope), but it’s still that moment of togetherness to eat, drink, enjoy each other and watch a great sport with those you share a roof with.
It’s the Eating & Drinking for Me
So yes, my absolute favorite part of the Super Bowl is the food and drink. I’m spending the day eating appetizers, sandwiches and drinking cocktails – diet be damned. The Super Bowl is a day for family as well as one for eating.

A seafood boil fits any occasion. I’ll definitely have my seafood platter smothered in Blove’s seafood sauce on my kitchen island for the Super Bowl. Check out how I put together my seafood boil here.
Lemon Drop Martini
If you aren’t really a “brewski” girl like me, then a lemon drop martini would be a perfect little something for you to sip during the Super Bowl. Check out my simple recipe here.
Psssst…. Don’t forget your cocktail shaker!
Pasta Salad
The ultimate in comfort foods, a nice pasta salad will give you all the carb goodness you’ll need to stay fueled up to cheer for the game. See my easy pasta salad recipe here. You’ll have a lot of veggies to chop, this vegetable chopper comes in handy.
Lobster Tails
Tailgate from the comfort of your own home and throw a few lobster tails on the grill. Make sure you have a good pair of scissors to butterfly those tails. See easy broiled lobster tail recipe here.
